A Week on the Amalfi Coast featuring Pompeii and Herculaneum

Delight in the scenic grandeur of the Amalfi Coast with its varied architecture and picturesque vertical landscape. Pastel-colored towns that cling to the cliffs are connected by the serpentine Amalfi Drive. Spend a week in the village of Vietri dul Mare, centrally located on Amalfi Drive and a perfect base from which to explore the region. Visit the spectacular 13th-century Villa Ruffolo in Ravello with its Arabesque architecture and exquisitely manicured terraced garden. Spend an afternoon in the town of Amalfi, known for its medieval architecture including the 11th-century Duomo at the heart of the city. Visit Sorrento, perched on a cliff above its lovely harbor. Cruise across the Gulf of Naples to spend a day exploring the Isle of Capri. Nearby are some of the best preserved ancient ruins to be found outside of Greece in Herculaneum, Pompeii, and Paestum.
